One of the recently released former Bulls players that still remains on the free agent market as of the evening of April 3 is the former Duke Blue Devil and 2014 NBA Draft Lottery pick Jabari Parker. This 26-year-old Chicago, IL, native and former second overall pick of the Milwaukee Bucks in the 2014 draft out of the Duke basketball program Parker was released by his former team late last month.

The last team that Parker played for was the Sacramento Kings. He landed with the Kings last season to see out roughly the final year and a half of his current contract, which he had originally signed with the Hawks. This 6-foot-8 and 245 pound power forward Parker had signed a two-year deal with the Hawks two offseasons ago that paid him around $6.5 million annually.

But Parker was released by the Kings back on March 25, trade deadline day, and hasn’t been picked up by anyone since. It does only feel like a matter of time before Parker is picked up by someone who needs to round out their frontcourt depth. It could also be a concerning sign for him that he still remains on the free agent market.

In nine games played with the Kings since the Hawks dealt him to Sactown at the 2019 trade deadline, Parker averaged 6.6 points per game, 3.2 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 0.3 steals, and 0.2 blocks. And he shot 58.1 percent from the field, 20.0 percent from beyond the arc, and 88.9 percent from the free-throw line.
