A recent member of the Bulls, former Arizona Wildcats 6-foot-5 and 225 pound shooting guard Rawle Alkins, had a shot with a team out in the Western Conference this season, but wasn’t able to make the most of it in the end. Alkins signed an exhibit-10 deal with the New Orleans Pelicans ahead of the start of the 2020-21 regular season.

But Alkins didn’t wind up making the Pelicans roster alongside the star forward duo of Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram for the regular season. He was waived less than one month after originally signing that exhibit-10 contract with the Pelicans. And he really didn’t get a shot to make any NBA roster since that point.

The Brooklyn, NY, native and former product of Word of God Academy in Raleigh, NC, Alkins was originally an undrafted free agent signing of GarPax and the Bulls ahead of the start of the 2018-19 regular season. He made it through the Training Camp/preseason roster cuts ahead of the start of that regular season, but didn’t last for long after that.

Alkins wound up splitting time during the 2018-19 season with the Chicago Bulls and G-League affiliate Windy City Bulls. He also got to play in three games this season with the Raptors 905 in the G-League bubble. But that came prior to him getting cut officially by the Pelicans.

In the lone 10 games that Alkins played in the NBA (which came during the 2018-19 campaign with the Bulls), Alkins averaged 3.7 points per game, 2.6 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 0.1 steals, and no blocks. And he’s shot 33.3 percent from the field, 25.0 percent from beyond the arc, and 66.7 percent from the free-throw line.
