The release of the hit 10-part documentary series by ESPN/ABC/Netflix highlighting all-time great shooting guard Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls “The Last Dance” kept basketball fans busy in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. But it also opened the door to a level of interest surrounding side stories of that Bulls team (specifically the bigger players on those dynasty teams).

Most of those side storylines that fans of The Last Dance wound up getting interested in had to do with the legend himself Jordan. A lot of the docuseries put an emphasis on Jordan’s life away from the game of basketball. That included his stint playing baseball in the Chicago White Sox organization in the mid-1990s, his childhood and how he was brought up with his family, and any “gambling issues” he had.

Also, the competitive nature that always followed him in and away from the game of basketball created this insurmountable interest in Jordan’s life off-the-court. But one of the most tragic stories that Jordan faced away from the game of basketball concerned his father’s passing in the early 1990s.

The passing of his father, James Jordan, also created a national interest in the solving of the murder that happened in the Carolinas in 1993.

Documentary to release related to Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan

According to a report confirmed by Phil Rosenthal of the Chicago Tribune on the morning of April 2, IMDB is set to release a documentary series about the James Jordan murder called “Moment of Truth”. It will be a five-part docuseries that streams on its website on April 2, which the Tribune says will mainly concern the “justice, incompetence, inconsistencies and allegations of corruption” surrounding the investigation.

This docuseries is sure to draw a lot of interest from those who were stuck by Jordan’s life away from the game of basketball in The Last Dance. We all know about the scenes of Jordan following his 1993 NBA Finals win of him breaking down in the locker room since his father was not there to celebrate with him.

Now the mystery surrounding the death of his father back in the 1990s will get drilled down deeper in this docuseries from IMDB.

This docuseries will also take a look back at the handling of the murder investigation in North Carolina’s Robeson County, including controversial accusations of men convicted at the time. Moment of Truth is sure to draw a lot of intrigued eyes that want to know more about how this investigation has played out over the years in the last three decades almost.

Now that the Bulls are back in action on the hardwood, there’s less focus from the fans on what they saw from Jordan in The Last Dance. But this is still a franchise and hoops legend that has seen a lot of docuseries surface about him within the last few years.
