Offseason targets No. 2: Jrue Holiday

Another Pelicans point guard at one point of his career is a potential target that the Bulls could look to in free agency is the veteran Milwaukee Bucks floor general Jrue Holiday. A good two-way point guard that the Bulls could target soon, Holiday could fix a lot of the problems that this team is facing this season.

The Bulls divisional foe Milwaukee invested a little too much it seems to get Holiday from the Pelicans last offseason. The 30-year-old former UCLA guard could turn down his player option for next offseason and hit the unrestricted free agent market. If he does pick his player option up, Holiday will get just north of $27 million next year.

It’s hard to tell now what type of market, and the level of contract, that Holiday would get next offseason were he to hit the free agent market. Getting around $27 million per year seems like a stretch for Holiday with the way he’s playing now, but he might want a longer-term deal that he’s willing to take a pay cut for.

If that is the case, then Karnisovas and the Bulls should at least see what the asking price would be for a veteran guard of his caliber. The idea of pairing Holiday alongside star shooting guard Zach LaVine could yield some amazing results for the Bulls. The lack of ability for the Bulls to matchup on the perimeter defensively and the need to get a starting-caliber floor general could be fixed by signing Holiday.
