Sharpshooter trade deadline targets No. 3: Eric Gordon
One team that is almost sure to be a seller at the deadline is the Houston Rockets. After dishing out superstar guard James Harden earlier this season to the Brooklyn Nets, it became clear that the Rockets were set to begin a process of full-on rebuild. Another player that the Rockets could look into dealing at the trade deadline is the former Indiana Pacers star guard Victor Oladipo.
There’s a lot that could happen with teams like the Rockets at the deadline this year. They sit in the bottom five in the NBA standings, which likely means a high looming draft pick in the lottery.
A player that could be on the move at the deadline this year, that could also be an interesting target for Karnisovas and the Bulls, is veteran shooting guard Eric Gordon. A known offensive playmaker and bucket getter, Gordon would be a really nice addition for this Bulls backcourt rotation. And given the movement the Rockets have already seen on the trade market this year, it might not be too long before he’s moved.
Another familiar face that the Rockets already moved ahead of the deadline was veteran forward PJ Tucker. The Rockets dealt Tucker to the Bulls divisional foe Milwaukee Bucks last week. But Gordon might be a familiar face to depart Space City in the near future.
So far this season, Gordon is down in terms of his shooting from beyond the arc, below 33 percent, but he’s still one to catch fire at almost any time. He’s around a career 37 percent shooter from beyond the arc and he’s a known volume scorer. If there’s a way for the Bulls to get him at the deadline for a valuable price, then it might be worth the move.
