Trades to get DeRozan from the Spurs No. 1

This last hypothetical trade deal on the list gets Bulls fans essentially all that they’ve wanted around the trade deadline looming later this week, maybe outside of the Cleveland Cavaliers big man Andre Drummond. The Bulls get some new faces to help out in the backcourt rotation, along with some restored young talent in the frontcourt unit.

To get this deal done, the Bulls and Spurs have to get a third team involved to make everything work. And that team is the New Orleans Pelicans, who could be one of the more active teams at the trade deadline this year.

What the Bulls want from the Pelicans is backcourt help, more specifically the 6-foot-6 versatile two-way point guard Lonzo Ball. They also get more help from a fellow former Los Angeles Laker and two-way shooting guard Josh Hart from the Pelicans.

For a few weeks now, the trade rumors connecting the Bulls with Lonzo created more and more fervor among the fans in the Windy City.

The other two players that the Bulls receive here come from the Spurs, in young power forward Luka Samanic and DeRozan. The Bulls can more effectively fill out their rotation with this trade deal than the last two on the list, and a lot of the areas of their starting five can get rejuvenated.

What the Bulls send to the Spurs in this trade deal are the 20-year-old North Carolina native White and OPJ. And they also send Sato and fourth-year power forward Lauri Markkanen (who is in the final year of his rookie contract this season) to the Pelicans to get it all done.

This deal has something appealing for all sides, and the Bulls can have a better shot at building this core effectively to contend in the future and get a good playoff push this year all in the same three-team trade.
