A secondary trade option/proposal
This second scenario has the same general theme as the first one, wherein the Bulls give up Satoranský in order to upgrade the guard spot. However, if the Bulls don’t want to amnesty part of their draft capital, they may choose to move on from White and Chandler Hutchinson.
While Hutchinson has provided some flashes over his three years in Chicago, he has only featured in seven games this year. This shows Donovan doesn’t have him in his long-term plans. With White, however, while it does feel a little peculiar to part ways with a number seven overall pick just halfway into his second year, he hasn’t proven himself to be a starting-level point guard.
And with a player of Brogdon’s quality rumored to be on the market, coupled with the fact that he seemingly is a perfect fit alongside Zach Lavine, this move may seem a little more viable.
The Verdict
As the NBA edges closer and closer to the deadline, it feels more and more likely the Bulls will make some type of move. With the bottom half of the East so wide open this year, it feels begging for Chicago to make a push for their first playoff berth since 2017.
Brogdon is the type of player who can provide that lift for the Bulls, and while it will come at a pretty lofty cost, maybe it’s time for Arturas Karnisovas to finally make a mark, halfway into his first season in the Windy City.
