With the trade deadline just a few days away now, it was reported by Vincent Goodwill of Yahoo Sports that the Pacers are “listening to pitches about Malcolm Brogdon“. And with the persistent rumors of the Chicago Bulls entering talks to trade for other potential guards (namely Lonzo Ball in New Orleans), Brogdon could become another name to look out for.

With the loss of Kris Dunn in the offseason last summer/autumn, along with the assumed and continued growth of Coby White, the Bulls had an assumption that point guard would be a filled need.

Coming into the season was that the Bulls, under new coach Billy Donovan, the team could focus on developing White, while keeping veteran Tomáš Satoranský as a backup to help mentor the UNC prospect.

More on Malcolm Brogdon and any Chicago Bulls consideration

But with over half of the season gone, and the Bulls sitting with a sub .500 record (19-23) and outside the playoff picture, the need for an ever-present defensive-minded guard to help balance out Zach Lavine’s tremendous offensive output has never felt greater.

That is exactly what fans want from a potential Lonzo Ball trade, and that is exactly what Malcolm Brogdon brings to the table, and more. Why should first-year executive vice president of basketball operations Arturas Karnisovas and general manager Marc Eversley seriously consider the idea of getting Brogdon in a trade with the Pacers at the deadline?
