With the trade deadline looming large for first-year executive vice president of basketball operations Arturas Karnisovas and the Chicago Bulls in less than five days, the time to have a planned out strategy for March 25 is here. The Bulls don’t have all that long before any moves they want to make this season on the trade block need to be set in stone.

Karnisovas and the Bulls have seen a mixed bag of results this season. But since the All-Star Break let out back on March 11, the Bulls have had nothing but inconsistencies. It’s not even between games that the Bulls are showing incredible levels of inconsistencies and collapses. In-game the Bulls are having trouble keeping big double-digit leads against opponents that they could beat.

The last two examples of that include the losses earlier in the week at the hands of the San Antonio Spurs and Denver Nuggets. With that in mind, first-year head coach Billy Donovan’s recent lineup changes might not be enough to right the ship for this team.

Changes on the way for the Chicago Bulls this week?

Donovan and the Bulls are sporting more of a veteran look in their starting five now with combo guard Tomas Satoransky and forward Thaddeus Young getting the call with the first unit. But that hasn’t helped to find too much more success in the win column in the last three or four games.

What might be able to help shift the Bulls fortunes in a more positive direction down the stretch this season is making positive moves on the trade market ahead of the deadline next week. But Karnisovas has to be careful not to gamble too much with risky trade targets.

Here’s a look at three risky trade targets for the Bulls to avoid at the deadline that could derail any progress this team has made so far this season.
