Chicago Bulls: 3 players causing the second half collapses

This is about the worst point of the season so far for first-year head coach Billy Donovan and this Chicago Bulls team as they look to try and right the ship just ahead of the looming March 25 trade deadline. And this will be a really important trade deadline as first-year executive vice president of basketball operations Arturas Karnisovas and general manager Marc Eversley will be looking to get moving back in the right direction in the Eastern Conference standings.

It looks like there could be a lot of necessary roster changes on the way in the near future. Whether it be at the looming trade deadline or at the outset of next offseason, Karnisovas and the Bulls need to make alterations to the roster construction if this team wants to become a true playoff contender in the East.

What’s gone wrong for the Chicago Bulls of late

The Bulls have now lost two games in a row, at the hands of the San Antonio Spurs and Denver Nuggets, earlier this week. And each of those games saw the Bulls hold at least an 18-point lead at multiple points of the first half. Each of those two losses also saw the Bulls have a massive second half collapse that is pretty on brand for fans that know this team well.

This is becoming way too common of a theme for the Bulls, dating back to the days under both former head coaches Fred Hoiberg and Jim Boylen. A common trend like this that is hard to watch for any Bulls fan is one that has to change.
