Chicago Bulls guard Coby White will look to build on a promising start to the 2020-21 season.
Guard Coby White is still learning on the fly thanks to a rookie season playing under a coaching staff that asked him to come off the bench in all but one game. That mistake has been highlighted enough and isn’t the fault of White himself.
That’s why he has unfinished business as we enter the second half of the season. White is learning the ins and outs of running the point for an NBA team still in his second campaign. This unfinished business isn’t about his production as much as it’s about his growth and development.
He has already proven to be a capable and willing scorer, but in the second half, he has the opportunity to grow as a leader and distributor. While LaVine is the team’s unquestioned leader, it’s valuable and necessary for the point guard to be capable of providing leadership.
White needs to focus on getting the team in the right spots offensively and being vocal on the defensive end. He started his NBA career with a detour of not being able to learn on the fly on a bad team. Now that the Bulls are, at the least, a solid team, White has unfinished business in getting himself where he needs to be for what will eventually be his third NBA campaign.
