Chicago Bulls: 3 looming concerns that still remain for the new front office
Can the Chicago Bulls stay healthy?
The injury bug has hit the Bulls again this season, with two familiar faces again finding themselves on the injury report. Lauri Markkanen has only appeared in 14 of the Bulls 34 games. Getting him back and staying healthy is key in finding out what this team is made of.
We have only seen a sample size of Markkanen this season and getting him back will help to give LaVine and the rest of the team some much needed size and extra offense. His size and length are what the Bulls have been lacking.
Otto Porter Jr. is another player we need back, he too has missed a cluster of games due to injury. He has played in only 16 games and was just a shell of himself coming off the bench with the second unit. OPJ has never really been effective or a major contributor for this team since his arrival.
He has missed more games than he has played. If the Bulls found someone to take on his money, I suspect that AK and Eversley would not hesitate to trade him. Then again, if he can find himself healthy, he may be a benefit to the Bulls short term goal of a playoff appearance.
OPJ is a solid defender has can create his own shot, he has shown the ability to take over a game from time to time. Staying healthy for now, will have to do. Neither of these players can contribute from the bench. A lot of question marks remain as we go into the second half of the season.
The Chicago Bulls can possibly find themselves looking like a brand-new team in a few short weeks, or we might continue to look the same, and still chasing that same old dream of what if. No matter what route they decide to take or wherever they are headed, Bulls fans will be enjoying the wild ride!
