3) Warriors trades with the Chicago Bulls for OPJ
Another forward that is a highly discussed commodity in various circles of NBA fans and media is the Warriors standout and versatile 6-foot-6 and 230 pound 31-year-old forward Draymond Green. This former Michigan State Spartan isn’t having his most efficient season with the Warriors, but he’s been put in pretty tough circumstances.
With the Warriors likely going through a transition phase at the moment, Green could be on the way out before too long. If the Warriors do in fact decide they want to part ways with Draymond, then the Bulls could be one team that presents an interesting landing spot. He is still showing a ton of versatility this season, averaging more assists than points in most games he’s played in this season.
Some good additions to this trade package that sees OPJ get shipped out to the Golden State are second-year former Arkansas Razorbacks center Daniel Gafford and a future lottery protected first round draft pick. Gafford doesn’t look to be a great fit with the Bulls under Donovan’s direction, as center Luke Kornet is getting a bigger role off the bench of late.
Moreover, the Bulls get a decent return here along with Green. They get the Warriors 2019 first round draft pick in the former Michigan Wolverines second-year guard Jordan Poole and productive big man Kevon Looney. The Bulls would have less $8 million combined on the books for the near future between the current contracts of Looney and Poole. They could greatly boost the long-term outlook of the depth of the Bulls bench with them two in the mix.
