Through the first three quarters of the 2021 NBA All-Star Game, played at the home of the Atlanta Hawks at State Farm Arena in Georgia, the Chicago Bulls star shooting guard Zach LaVine played well in multiple respects. The tough part for LaVine and Team Durant in the first three quarters of the All-Star Game was the fact that they didn’t win any of them individually.

Team LeBron came out of the gates firing and never really looked back. Through the end of the third quarter in the 2021 NBA All-Star Game, Team LeBron owned the edge by a score of 146-125. Quarter three was the closest that LaVine and Team Durant came to winning any of them, losing by just one point after Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell hit a buzzer-beating three-point shot.

A night where the Bulls star LaVine didn’t have his best showing in the 3-Point Contest saw him rebound nicely in the All-Star Game itself. LaVine was eliminated in the first round of the 3-Point Contest, after scoring 22 points. Golden State Warriors superstar point guard Stephen Curry wound up winning that event over Jazz point guard Mike Conley.

What the Chicago Bulls All-Star did early on for Team Durant

Moreover, LaVine did show out better in the All-Star Game through the first three quarters. He had registered nine points, on 4-of-9 shooting from the field, along with three rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Through the end of three quarters, LaVine’s three steals tied a game-high.

The only other player on Team Durant that had three steals through the first three quarters was the Boston Celtics wing Jaylen Brown. There was not a single player on Team LeBron that managed three assists in that same span of time.

But star veteran Phoenix Suns point guard Chris Paul did manage three steals by early in the fourth quarter.

Team LeBron held more than a 20 point lead heading into the fourth quarter. It wasn’t going to take them much to reach that 170 game-winning score in the fourth quarter.

LaVine was the first Bulls All-Star selection in four years. The last Bulls player to be an All-Star selection prior to LaVine was their former star shooting guard/small forward Jimmy Butler back in 2017.
