Chicago Bulls: 3 early 2021 All-Star free agent targets
2) Chicago Bulls 2021 All-Star FA targets
Mike Conley, Point Guard
A lower profile potential free agent target for Karnisovas, LaVine, and the Bulls among the pool of All-Stars this year could be the bounce back Utah Jazz veteran point guard Mike Conley. This 33-year-old 6-foot-1 and 175 pound two-way point guard is set to be an unrestricted free agent come next offseason, so he could be an open target for the Bulls.
Although Conley wasn’t originally selected as a starter or reserve for this All-Star Game, he is still a noteworthy potential free agent target for the Bulls. He will be replacing the Phoenix Suns star shooting guard Devin Booker in both the All-Star Game this weekend and the 3-Point Contest. This will technically be the first career All-Star nod for the former Memphis Grizzlies floor general Conley.
And with LaVine participating in both the All-Star Game and the 3-Point Contest this year, he and Conley will get to spend a lot of time together this weekend. Conley and LaVine have ironically participated in a lot of similar events during this weird last calendar year in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. They both also took part in the NBA’s Horse Challenge that took place last year during the pause.
Conley has to be in the running for the NBA’s Most Improved Player award this season with the way he’s played during the first half. He’s averaged 16.1 points per game, 3.5 rebounds, 5.7 assists, 1.4 steals, and 0.1 blocks. Conley shot 44.4 percent from the field, a solid 42.2 percent from beyond the arc, and 82.9 percent from the free-throw line.
The Bulls could fill their starting point guard need during the offseason if Conley were interested in coming to Chicago at a reasonable price in free agency.
