Chicago Bulls: 4 playmaking PG free agent targets
3) Chicago Bulls playmaking PG FA targets
Brandon Knight
A name that would fly under the radar for most at this point that could be an option for the Bulls if they want to dig deep is the former Detroit Pistons and Milwaukee Bucks point guard Brandon Knight. Having nearly 350 career regular season starts to his name, and more than 450 career regular season games played in total, Knight would be an experienced option for the Bulls at the position off the free agent market.
The Bulls most veteran point guard option at this point in time is Sato. The likes of Coby and the former Villanova Wildcat Ryan Arcidiacono don’t provide much of a veteran presence for Donovan and the Bulls. And there’s where signing a former proven guard like Knight could come into play for them.
Knight actually got to play in 25 games during the shortened 2019-20 regular season (three of which he started in), between spending time with the Pistons and Cavaliers. By this point, Knight definitely is well-acquainted with the Central Division. Of the five teams that Knight has played in at least one career regular season game for, three were in the Central Division (Bucks, Pistons, and Cavaliers).
And during the 2019-20 campaign, Knight averaged 7.3 points per game, 1.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 0.4 steals, and 0.1 blocks. Knight shot 35.3 percent from the field, 34.4 percent from beyond the arc, and 58.8 percent from the free-throw line.
Knight found a lot of traction in terms of his production and efficiency once he landed with the Pistons down the stretch last season (shooting better than 38 percent from beyond the arc and averaging nearly a dozen points per game).
