Chicago Bulls: 4 playmaking PG free agent targets

Yogi Ferrell
Although he wasn’t able to make a big enough impact to stick around with the Cleveland Cavaliers earlier this year, the former Indiana Hoosier and speedy point guard Yogi Ferrell certainly still showed a lot of pop in his game. He only got to play in two games this regular season with the Cavaliers before getting waived in the last two months.
Ferrell was actually a very serviceable role player coming off the bench in the backcourt rotation for the Sacramento Kings for the early portion of his professional basketball career. He spent the last two full seasons with the Kings after bouncing around from a few different teams at the very outset of his NBA career in the late 2010’s.
Moreover, Ferrell started out his career floating between the Dallas Mavericks and Brooklyn Nets (among a couple of other G-League stops) for the first two years. And then he found more stability with the Kings.
During his two seasons playing for the Kings during the 2018-19 and 2019-20 campaigns, Ferrell averaged 5.3 points per game, 1.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 0.4 steals, and 0.1 blocks. And he shot 43.0 percent from the field, 34.2 percent from beyond the arc, and 88.1 percent from the free-throw line.
All in all, Ferrell is a pretty good shooter that is very adept at creating his own looks. And he runs really well in transition, which is something that would definitely benefit this Bulls backcourt rotation.
