Denver Nuggets

On the night of March 1, the Bulls will next take on the former employer of Karnisovas. The Bulls will host the Denver Nuggets at the United Center on the first day of next month. And it will be fun to see how the Bulls are able to matchup the likes of LaVine and WCJ against star big man Nikola Jokic and guard Jamal Murray.

The Nuggets look solid at the moment in terms of their depth in the backcourt rotation. But their frontcourt depth is largely lacking right now, partly thanks to injury problems. And their frontcourt depth problems is also partly thanks to a lack of proven experience. Beyond Jokic, the Nuggets don’t have much to lean in among their big men right now.

Veteran big man Paul Millsap and backup power forward JaMychal Green are currently dealing with injuries, and there’s too much pressure being placed on the shoulders of Jokic. Getting a player like Young in the mix would provide a lot of relief to the Nuggets frontcourt situation. And it would help a team that made an appearance in the Western Conference Finals last year that is middling in the standings this season.

The Nuggets also have quite a few interesting trade chips that could get Karnisovas and the Bulls to the table. Shooting guard Gary Harris, forward Michael Porter Jr., shooting guard PJ Dozier, and/or small forward Will Barton, could all make for potential trade targets in a hypothetical discussion between the Bulls and Nuggets.
