5) Chicago Bulls FA targets for frontcourt help
Skal Labissiere, Power Forward/Center
If Karnisovas and the Bulls want to seek out a player who can both shore up their frontcourt rotation and have a future with the team all at the same time, then they should look no further than the first name up on this list. Former Kentucky Wildcats star big man and elite five-star recruit Skal Labissiere is one of the most potent big men remaining on the free agent market.
The last team that Labissiere played for in the NBA was the Portland Trail Blazers, who he suited up for in each of the last two seasons. He also signed an EXHIBIT-10 contract last offseason with the New York Knicks, but he was waived prior to the start of this regular season. This 23-year-old 6-foot-11 and 235 pound power forward/center has yet to play in a single game this season.
The 28th overall pick from the first round of the 2016 NBA Draft of the Phoenix Suns has also now played for two different teams in his more than three years in the league. During the shortened 2019-20 regular season, Labissiere played in 33 games for the Blazers (just one of which he started in).
Labissiere averaged 5.8 points per game, 5.1 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 0.2 steals, and 0.9 blocks. He shot 55.1 percent from the field, 23.1 percent from beyond the arc, and 75.8 percent from the free-throw line.
All of that amounted to a -1.3 box plus/minus rating, 0.1 value over replacement player rating, .119 win shares per 48 minutes, 1.4 total win shares, 121 offensive rating/113 defensive rating, 58.8 true shooting percentage, and a 15.4 player efficiency rating.
