Feb. 10, 2021 was the most exciting Chicago Bulls game of the season so far. It was a huge team win for this young core, the win came at the perfect time for star shooting guard Zach LaVine. He is determined to be a 20-21 NBA All-Star with another outstanding performance.
Zach came looking for payback from the lack-luster team performance against the Washington Wizards earlier in the week. Zach had a chance to seal that game on a last second contested lay-up, it was left just short. Ending the game with another tough four-point loss at the United Center.
The Bulls haven’t taken care of their home court this season. Even with last nights exciting win the Bulls are an underachieving 4-8 on Madison St. to start this season. No fans in attendance may be playing a key role in the lack of effort on their home floor. Hopefully this record breaking night can continue as the Bulls move forward.
Zach LaVine has awe-inspiring performance for the Chicago Bulls
LaVine came out energetic and lively, he was aggressive from the start scoring a season-high 46 points (17-25 FG, 9-14 3Pt, 3-3 FT), seven rebounds, four assists. We can add in a block shot just for the fun of it. Mamba mentality was on full display from start to finish!
Zach has arrived, after this extraordinary performance, and monumental record setting game. He has hushed the doubters, has also proven his worth to Chicago and doing it with first-class professionalism and out-of-this-world offensive talent.
On top of Zach’s hot shooting of late, he is on pace to becoming one of the best Bulls players in the past decade! He’s having a hell of a season! He has become a force-to be reckon with. Zach explained his mindset to reporters after the game.
"“I expect to do that. I put in the time and effort,” LaVine said. “It happens that way. You hit a couple, get hot. You wish it could happen every game. Obviously, it can’t. But when you get in a zone, you want to stay in it.”"
Fans hope this zone can last throughout the rest of the season, most importantly start to translate to more wins. Zach has proven that he deserves his spot as an All-star. He’s developed into one of the NBA’s brightest stars. His confidence is contagious and it shows on the court every time he steps onto the floor.
On the season, Zach is averaging all career highs:
PTS
•28.2
5th
•REB 5.3
Tied-86th
•AST 5.3
33rd
•PER
22.61
His most impressive stat is his super-efficient 51.8 percent shooting from the field. Add in his 42 percent shooting from three-point range and he is one of the best shooting guards in the league! Zach is unguardable, he even has room to grow at just 25 years old. If Zach can guard like he did last night, he will become one of the leagues best two-way superstars.
Fans appreciate you Zach
You earned it this year! He has a chance to add another accolade to his already tremendous resume, Commissioner Adam Silver recently spoke of adding in the slam dunk contest during halftime at the All-Star game. Fans hope that happens, Zach has spoke about entering the slam-dunk contest if he’s selected to his first All-Star appearance.
We can all look forward to Zach every game and to continue his dominance. These performances so far are why Zach sealed the deal on an All-Star nod. He looks poised to keep his hot streak going. I’m looking forward to watch the Bulls on Friday. They host the Clippers and should be a site to see.
