Many key factors go into becoming a first time All-Star. Your stat line does not need to stand out amongst your piers. I have never once considered a high volume scorer on a bad team an instant All-Star. How you lead on and off the court, and my most important stat line, that makes an All-Star, is your ability to win games and or make the people around you better to help your team win games. This shows up for one of the best players for the Chicago Bulls in the last few years.

Those stats,  that don’t show up in the stat sheets matter as well. Hustle plays and having the ability to always be in the right spot, making the right read or always finding that mismatch. Big time players make big time plays, an All-Star is a big time player in the biggest moments. Lets take a deeper dive into Zach LaVine‘s case as to why he should be a first time All-star.

Lets just jump right into it,

Are you helping the guys around you to be better or the best version of themselves?

Zach has shown the ability to get his teammates  involved and helping them to find there spots. He often does make sure he reads the defense and the game has slowed down for him, to the point that LaVine is now allowing the game to come to him.

This has helped his team  become more competitive  and has caused his efficiency to sky rocket. It has also increased his value significantly, in turn LaVine has helped the Bulls to win more games early in the season.  Doing whatever it takes to get that W in the win column. LaVine has hit big shots, he’s also dropped off a few nice dimes to seal the win.
