A big win for first-year head coach Billy Donovan and the Chicago Bulls back on the night of Feb. 1 over the improving New York Knicks could spark a nice run for the team during an easier schedule in February compared to last month. The Bulls got the win over head coach Tom Thibodeau and the Knicks at home at the United Center on Feb. 1 by the final score of 110-102. That win over the Knicks helped the Bulls snap a three-game losing streak they carried coming out of the weekend.
Maybe this could be a sign of a turnaround for Donovan and the Bulls as they turn the page to February. They now carry a record of 8-11, prior to taking on the Knicks again in the night of Feb. 3.
A boost in the production the Bulls are getting from their bench, along with some more bounces potentially going their way in the near future, could really shift their fortunes in the win column at least over the next few weeks. The improved play of the Bulls veteran role players of late has trickled down to more confidence and consistency out of their young players too.
The Bulls have also seen a more consistent bit of production and efficiency out of key pieces in their young core of late, boosting the overall presence of their starting five night in and night out. If this continues, the Bulls could contend for a lower seed in the playoffs this season.
Here’s a look at three Bulls players boosting their stock of late with improved play.
