Chicago Bulls: LeBron James injured for Lakers in tonight’s game
Although it might not hold him out of the matchup between the defending NBA Champion Los Angeles Lakers and the Chicago Bulls on the night of Jan. 23, superstar forward LeBron James could be at least limited on minutes. LeBron is currently dealing with a reported ankle injury that has him listed as “day-to-day”.
He is reportedly questionable for the Bulls matchup with the Lakers at home at the United Center in Chicago on Jan. 23, with tip off time set for 8 p.m. CT.
More injury news came about for the Lakers in the form of superstar big man Anthony Davis dealing with right ankle sprain. LeBron currently is dealing with a left ankle sprain, but his appears to be more severe than that of his teammate AD.
There are a few other injuries that were noted for the Lakers for the Jan. 23 meeting with the Bulls, but none as significant as that of LeBron and AD.
What the injury could mean for Lakers, Chicago Bulls
If the Lakers are in fact missing LeBron in this game, it would obviously be a massive void in their starting five. He’s played in all 16 games for the Lakers so far this season (all of which he’s started in), averaging around 33 minutes on the floor per game.
And LeBron has averaged 24.4 points per game, 7.8 rebounds, 7.6 assists, 0.8 steals, and 0.4 blocks. He’s shot 48.3 percent from the field, an unusually efficient 39.6 percent from beyond the arc, and 72.5 percent from the free-throw line.
The last time that LeBron and the Lakers met up with the Bulls was back on the night of Jan. 8 at the Staples Center in LA. That game resulted in a very narrow victory for the Lakers, which came down the almost the last possession, by a score of 117-115.
The last three games for the Bulls resulted in them building up a three-game winning streak. And their last game in particular resulted in a comfortable 123-110 win on the road over the Charlotte Hornets at the Spectrum Center on Jan. 22. The Bulls do come into this game with a record of 7-8, compared to 12-4 from the Lakers.
