In their huge win over superstar point guard Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks on the road at the American Airlines Center on the afternoon of Jan. 17, the Chicago Bulls saw their bench come in clutch all the way through. A nice outing from the likes of a duo of veterans in forward Thaddeus Young and shooting guard Garrett Temple really lifted the Bulls to get this 117-101 win over the Mavs to produce the season sweep in that two-game series.

Following the Bulls notching their fifth win of the regular season so far, including two over the Mavs, Temple had a bold statement on where this team’s bench could be headed in relation to the rest of the NBA. He reportedly stated following the win that he feels that the Bulls bench could be the “best in the NBA”.

That would clearly mean that the Bulls bench continues to find some stability and that the entire rotation stays pretty healthy throughout this regular season slate. Any Bulls fan knows how challenging that is for any Bulls team, as injuries are just a common storyline in the last 10-15 years in this organization.

Moreover, the bench will be a key for the Bulls this season no matter what. Strong benches and developing young talent in an efficient manner is part of what made head coach Billy Donovan’s teams so consistent during his time as the Oklahoma City Thunder bench boss for five years.
