The highly anticipated New Years 2021 celebration is very nearly upon us, and Chicago Bulls fans should be excited about what’s to come this season.

New Years Eve is upon us, and Chicago Bulls might be able to witness their team winning their second game in a row on the night of Dec. 31 on the road. For the second straight game, the Bulls and first-year head coach Billy Donovan will meet with fellow former Oklahoma City Thunder head coach Scott Brooks and the Washington Wizards on the road in the nation’s capital.

Heading into that Dec. 31 showdown on the road with the Wizards, the Bulls carry a record of 1-3. They notched their first win of the regular season slate so far on Dec. 29, in their first try against the Wizards, by the final score of 115-107. The previous three games had resulted in losses to the Golden State Warriors, Indiana Pacers, and Atlanta Hawks to open up the regular season.

Donovan and the Bulls are in the midst of the fourth year of this rebuild, and there looks to be more hope for the young core heading into the turn of the calendar year than there was in the Windy City for the last year or two at least. Former Bulls head coach Jim Boylen didn’t do much in the last two seasons to inspire confidence in the direction this rebuild was headed.

The Bulls finished up with a record of 22-43 under Boylen’s direction during the shortened 2019-20 regular season, good for 11th place in the Eastern Conference standings. Boylen never really got the Bulls close to the playoffs over the course of his two year run as the team’s head coach.

There’s a lot to forget about the calendar year of 2020, both for Bulls fans and just given this crazy time in general. Turning the calendar to 2021 is something that a lot of people around the globe are ready to do. Here’s a look into three things that the Bulls in particular want to leave behind in 2020.
