Hitting the free agent market could be a good way for the Chicago Bulls new front office regime to try and improve the roster in the near future.
There’s still a plethora of interesting potential free agent targets out there around the NBA landscape, even post-Christmas Day. This past cycle of free agency moved really fast, and it might’ve left quite a few quality targets still out on the open market. That is something that a team like the Chicago Bulls, that is struggling out of the gates this regular season, can take full advantage of.
To start off this regular season slate, first-year head coach Billy Donovan and the Bulls own a record of 0-3 after their latest game resulted in a really tough 129-128 last second loss at home at the United Center on Dec. 27 at the hands of the Golden State Warriors. The Bulls also hold losses to the Indiana Pacers and Atlanta Hawks to open up this season.
Since the Bulls just knocked out their first homestand of the season, they are about to hit the road for the first time for the 2020-21 campaign to face the Washington Wizards twice in the nation’s capital, on Dec. 29 and 31. There is definite improvement needed for the Bulls on both ends of the floor from what they showed in their first three games.
While this team did show more signs of life in the loss to the Warriors than they did in their previous two games, there’s still a lot of room for growth from here on out. Extending this losing streak any longer could be really detrimental to this Bulls rebuild this season.
