3) Disappointing Chicago Bulls through 3 games

Chandler Hutchison, Small Forward

In terms of role players coming off the bench for the Bulls this season, one that fills a crucial spot in the rotation is third-year former Boise State Broncos 6-foot-7 and 210 pound 24 year-old small forward Chandler Hutchison. There is likely soon to be a determination from the new front office regime as to what to do with Hutch over the long haul.

They did exercise the option in his rookie contract obviously for the 2020-21 regular season, but it’s still unknown if he will be back next year. Hutch isn’t making a good case for his return through three games this season, though.

In the three games that Hutch played for the Bulls so far this season (none of which he started in), he’s playing in just over 15 minutes per game. And he’s averaged 3.7 points per game, 4.7 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 0.3 steals, and no blocks. Hutch shot 33.3 percent from the field, 50.0 percent from beyond the arc, and is perfect on two attempts from the charity stripe.

At least Hutch is efficient on his limited attempts from the free-throw line and from downtown so far this season.

He’s also registered a dismal -.017 win shares per 48 minutes, no win shares, 42.7 true shooting percentage, 91 offensive rating/115 defensive rating, and a 6.0 player efficiency rating so far. If those advanced metrics held true throughout the entirety of the regular season for Hutch, they would all be career lows.
