With the Chicago Bulls now through their first three games of the season, which players need to improve the most before the turn of the calendar year?
The first three games of the 2020-21 regular season slate for first-year head coach Billy Donovan and the Chicago Bulls just haven’t gone their way so far. The Bulls started out this season, in the midst of a three-game homestand, with a three-game losing streak. That’s not what the fan base had in mind after all the seemingly positive changes that were made within the organization during the long offseason.
On the night of Dec. 27, the Bulls rounded out their three-game homestand at the United Center to start off the regular season with a heartbreaking last second loss at the hands of superstar point guard Stephen Curry and the Golden State warriors. The Bulls fell short to the Warriors by the final score of 129-128 at home on Dec. 27. It took a game-winning three-pointer from Warriors shooting guard Damion Lee to put them over the top with the one-point victory.
That was a real shame that the Bulls could not notch their first win of the season against the Warriors to round out the weekend. This was by far the closest game that the Warriors played in so far this season. Prior to the loss to the Warriors, the Bulls fell short to the Indiana Pacers and Atlanta Hawks by a combined margin of 39 points.
At least there are signs for progress for Donovan and the Bulls after the loss to Golden State. But there are still obvious areas of improvement needed moving forward. Their next game comes on the road for the first time this season, on Dec. 29 against the Washington Wizards.
Yet, here’s a look back at three of the most disappointing Bulls players through the first three games of the 2020-21 regular season.
