2) Stars Chicago Bulls fans should want for Christmas

Kawhi Leonard, Small Forward

At this point, the most notable potential free agent that could hit the open market next offseason would be the superstar Los Angeles Clippers 6-foot-7 and 225 pound small forward Kawhi Leonard. The former San Antonio Spurs and Toronto Raptors 29-year-old standout “The Claw” is looking to embark on another title run with the Clippers this season.

Leonard is a four-time NBA All-Star selection, two-time NBA Champion, four-time All-NBA Team selection, two-time Finals MVP, and two-time Defensive Player of the Year. He will be looking for his fifth career All-Star selection this season. But getting over the disappointment from last season and winning a title with the Clippers has to be his main goal at hand.

If Leonard does manage to hit the free agent market next offseason, then it sounds great for the Bulls to be able to get him to the Windy City. The odds of that happening look very slim at the moment, but it is a nice thought.

During the shortened 2019-20 regular season, Leonard played in 57 games with the Clippers (all of which he started in). And he averaged 27.1 points per game, 7.1 rebounds, 4.9 assists, 1.8 steals, and 0.6 blocks. Leonard shot 47.0 percent from the field, 37.8 percent from beyond the arc, and 88.6 percent from the free-throw line.

Leonard got off on the right foot with the Clippers to start their regular season slate. He led them to a win over their crosstown rivals on Dec. 22, the Los Angeles Lakers. Leonard registered 26 points, two rebounds, three assists, and two steals in the win over the Lakers.
