1) Chicago Bulls veteran targets that could sign in G-League
Brandon Knight, Point Guard
If the Bulls really wanted to dig deep in terms of potential scouting opportunities for any veterans still remaining on the free agent market that could play in the G-League Atlanta bubble this season, they could look further into this point guard to round out this list. Former Detroit Pistons 29-year-old 6-foot-2 and 185 pound point guard Brandon Knight had some flashes still last season.
Knight became a true journeyman around the NBA over the course of the last four or five seasons. He’s now played for five different teams over the course of his nine year NBA career. The latest team he played for was the Pistons. But that was for less than a dozen games to round out the 2019-20 campaign in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
During the shortened 2019-20 regular season, Knight played in 25 games between his time with the Pistons and Cleveland Cavaliers (just three of which he started in). He averaged 7.3 points per game, 1.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 0.4 steals, and 0.1 blocks. Knight shot 35.3 percent from the field, 34.4 percent from beyond the arc, and 58.8 percent from the free-throw line.
Most of the games that Knight’s played in his career to date in the NBA was with the Pistons. To round out last season with the Pistons was Knight’s second stint with the team. For his career in the NBA in total, he’s played in 446 regular season games. And he averaged 14.1 points per game, 3.1 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 0.9 steals, and 0.2 blocks. Knight shot 41.1 percent from the field, 35.3 percent from beyond the arc, and 80.6 percent from the free-throw line.
