3) Chicago Bulls veteran targets that could sign in G-League

Dewayne Dedmon, Center

A nice depth addition at the center position that was thought of in the past on here for the Bulls is the current free agent 31-year-old 7-foot and 245 pound big man Dewayne Dedmon. The last team that Dedmon played for was with the Hawks last season, in 10 games (eight of which he started in), prior to the hiatus induced by the novel coronavirus pandemic.

In total last season, Dedmon played in 44 games between his time with the Hawks and Sacramento Kings (18 of which he started in). And he averaged 5.8 points per game, 5.7 rebounds, 0.5 assists, 0.6 steals, and 0.9 blocks. Dedmon shot 40 percent from the field, 20.6 percent from beyond the arc, and 83.3 percent from the free-throw line.

Traditionally Dedmon is a big man that can both space the floor, hit the glass hard and efficiently, and protect the rim with relative proficiency. Over the course of his seven year career in the NBA to date (at least through the end of this past regular season), Dedmon played in just shy of 400 regular season games.

For his career, he’s averaged 6.4 points per game, 6.0 rebounds, 0.7 assists, 0.5 steals, and 0.9 blocks. And Dedmon shot 51.6 percent from the field, 33.3 percent from beyond the arc, and 73.2 percent from the free-throw line.

Dedmon still looks to have something left in the tank, and he could be signed on a value contract if he’s able to prove himself if he plays in the bubble 2020-21 G-League season.
