Projecting Chicago Bulls rotation for regular season

End of the bench: Cristiano Felicio, Luke Kornet, Ryan Arcidiacono, Denzel Valentine, Chandler Hutchison

What is likely to be the third unit for Donovan and the Bulls this season will consist of some mix of those aforementioned five players along with the two players in the two-way contract slots. The Bulls signed second-year shooting guard/wing Adam Mokoka and former Kansas Jayhawks rookie point guard Devon Dotson to the two-way contract slots.

There’s a real chance that Mokoka and small forward Chandler Hutchison could battle it out for more playing time this season if their play improves compared to last year. The same goes for Denzel Valentine, Luke Kornet, and Ryan Arcidiacono.

Key second unit: Garrett Temple, Daniel Gafford, Thaddeus Young

The second unit for the Bulls this season will be comprised of three or four players that are likely to get at least 15-20 minutes on the floor at key times per game, and the sixth and seventh men in the rotation. Watch out for the likes of former Brooklyn Nets veteran 34-year-old shooting guard Garrett Temple to make an immediate impact in this rotation.

And if veteran forward Thaddeus Young can get back to his usual production level off the bench this season, then his $13 million price tag will be more worth it. And his spot in the rotation could be more specifically carved out.

It is also important to watch the second-year former Arkansas Razorbacks center Daniel Gafford this season, as he is one of the most underrated players in this entire rotation. He should be the backup center, getting heavier minutes, at the outset of the 2020-21 regular season.
