How should the 15-man rotation form together at the outset of the 2020-21 regular season for head coach Billy Donovan and the Chicago Bulls?
The first day of the Chicago Bulls 2020-21 regular season slate has arrived on Dec. 23. What will be the first meaningful regular season game action for the Bulls since mid-March, since this past regular season ended early in the wake of the novel coronavirus pandemic, at the United Center could be a shot for this team to get off and running in the fourth year of the rebuild.
During their four-game preseason slate, the Bulls looked good in the last three. They registered a record of 3-1, with their last game resulting in a road win over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Dec. 18. The Bulls finished up the preseason on a three-game winning streak. They won two games on the road over the Thunder, and split two games at home at the United Center with the Houston Rockets.
At least newly hired head coach Billy Donovan ended the preseason with momentum, as did the likes of rookie forward Patrick Williams, power forward Lauri Markkanen, and shooting guard Zach LaVine, among other. There was also a lot of flashes shown by second-year point guard Coby White in the preseason, although his play and overall efficiency was up and down.
Moreover, the Bulls finished up the 2019-20 regular season under the direction of former head coach Jim Boylen with a record of 22-43, good for 11th place in the Eastern Conference standings. They have a new look front office regime, coaching staff, and scouting department heading into the 2020-21 regular season.
This regular season slate opens for the Bulls at home at the United Center (with tip off set for 7 p.m. CT) against the Atlanta Hawks on Dec. 23. That will be the first of 72 games played in this altered campaign around the NBA.
Here’s a look into the projected 15-man rotation for the Bulls for the looming 2020-21 regular season.
