3) Chicago Bulls 2021 FA targets ahead of 20-21 season
There wouldn’t be much better that the Bulls can do if they wanted to go out and land a true veteran standout point guard in the free agent market next offseason than with the Toronto Raptors one-time NBA Champion and the 34-year-old Kyle Lowry. The uber consistent and efficient 6-foot and 195 pound floor general had another stellar campaign last season.
Showing no signs of slowing down in recent years (despite the losses of key teammates over the course of the last two offseasons), Lowry could be a valuable presence for another NBA team if he leaves Toronto next offseason. Lowry could also be the perfect mentor if the Bulls are seeking one out next offseason for White.
Lowry was an All-Star selection in each of the last six seasons, despite somehow only getting All-NBA Team honors on one occasion.
During the shortened 2019-20 regular season, Lowry played in 58 games for the Raptors (all of which he started in). He was also pretty stout for the Raptors in 11 games played (again all of which he started in). And in the regular season he averaged 19.4 points per game, 5.0 rebounds, 7.5 assists, 1.4 steals, and 0.4 blocks. Lowry shot 41.6 percent from the field, 35.2 percent from beyond the arc, and 85.7 percent from the free-throw line.
This season, Lowry is in the last year of his current contract. He’s set to make a salary of $30 million. That dollar figure is likely to decrease a bit if he hits the open free agent market next offseason. The Bulls should definitely what type of price tag he’ll command in free agency come next offseason.
