A really potent idea for Arturas Karnisovas and the Chicago Bulls could be getting a starting backcourt that features Ben Simmons and Coby White.

I’ve talked on this subject before, but the idea of the Chicago Bulls making a deal with newly hired general manager Daryl Morey and the Philadelphia 76ers for star point guard Ben Simmons could make a lot of sense for both sides. The Bulls do have a potential standout point guard in the making in second-year former North Carolina Tar Heel Coby White, but it would be really hard to pass up Simmons if he is in fact available on the trade market.

According to a report from ESPN NBA insider Brian Windhorst on his podcast “The Hoop Collective”, the Sixers are willing to make Simmons available in almost “any trade scenario”. If that really is the case, then the Bulls should be one of the first teams lining up to see what it would take to get Simmons to the Windy City.

There’s a lot of trade chips that newly hired Bulls executive vice president of basketball operations Arturas Karnisovas and general manager Marc Eversley could use in this type of discussion too. Their young core is potent, but they don’t have any player at the moment as proven or talented as Simmons.

The 2019-20 steals champ and two-time NBA All-Star selection Simmons proved how valuable he was for the Sixers once he went out for the rest of the season in the bubble to round out the 2019-20 campaign. The Sixers looked helpless in their first round playoff series running the schemes through star center Joel Embiid. They wound up getting swept by the three-seed Boston Celtics in the first round in the bubble last season.

That should prove to the Bulls how much value Simmons could bring to the table for them. Here’s a look into three potential early season trades that the Bulls might be able to put together to get Simmons from the Sixers.
