2) Most valuable Chicago Bulls trade chips

Scouting Report. Age: 20. player. 24. Pick Analysis. Point Guard. Coby White. 2

The other candidate that would be up for the most untouchable Bulls players right now would be the second-year former North Carolina Tar Heels 6-foot-5 point guard Coby White. This 20-year-old North Carolina native finished up his rookie season on a high note, and showed more promise during the Bulls preseason slate this year.

White also had his downsides during the preseason, including some bad shooting performances here and there and a bit too many turnovers. Granted, patience should still win the day with White’s game and he was an overall net positive presence on the floor during this four game Bulls preseason slate.

Moreover, White looks to be one of the more potent and explosive young scoring guards in the NBA today. His rookie season as a whole left something to be desired statistically, but he had a lot of momentum when it prematurely ended in the wake of the novel coronavirus pandemic in mid-March.

During the shortened 2019-20 regular season, White played in all 65 games for the Bulls (just the final one of which he started in). And he averaged 13.2 points per game, 3.5 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 0.8 steals, 0.1 blocks, and 1.7 turnovers. White shot 39.4 percent from the field, 35.4 percent from beyond the arc, and 79.1 percent from the free-throw line.

Basketball-Reference projects White to average 18.9 points per game, 5.3 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 1.1 steals, 0.2 blocks, and 2.3 turnovers during the 2020-21 regular season. And they have him shooting 41.4 percent from the field, 36.9 percent from beyond the arc, and 79.9 percent from the free-throw line.

Those projections would be solid for White in his second year in the NBA, and would be very valuable for this Bulls rebuild as a whole.
