Another truly underrated player around the NBA, that is also switching teams heading into the 2020-21 regular season, that Temple did really well against defensively is the former New Orleans Pelicans two-way guard Jrue Holiday. Now playing alongside the reigning back-to-back MVP and superstar forward Giannis Antetokounmpo with the Milwaukee Bucks, Holiday could do special things this season.

It would be hard for a lot of hoops fans to believe that there’s only one season where Holiday was an All-Star selection, despite averaging at least 17 points per game, six assists, and 1.5 steals six different times. Nonetheless, Holiday is a good two-way guard that drew some tough matchups at different points of his career to date against Temple.

Holiday and Temple have faced each other on 16 occasions during the regular season, and no times in the playoffs. They also split those 16 regular season meetings, with eight wins each. And Holiday averaged 17.3 points per game, 3.8 rebounds, 6.3 assists, 2.0 steals, 0.6 blocks, and a whopping 2.8 turnovers. He shot 42.0 percent from the field, 29.9 percent from beyond the arc, and 81.6 percent from the free-throw line.

The assist-to-turnover ratio that Temple forced Holiday into in a frequent defensive matchup is a bit worse than his career average, especially in the last five seasons. And the shooting percentages are much worse for Holiday than his career averages. Temple even averaged around one steal and one block per game in those 16 tries against Holiday.
