1) 20-21 bold predictions for Chicago Bulls SG Zach LaVine
Gets his first All-NBA Team selection
Since All-Star Weekend doesn’t look like it will be a thing this season in the NBA, one of the most notable accomplishments for a standout scoring guard like LaVine will be getting All-NBA Team honors. The three All-NBA Teams will be a really difficult feat for LaVine, but his game is very much trending up of late.
LaVine would likely have to average something in the ballpark of 27-28 points per game, at least six rebounds, five assists, and keep the per game stats he had on defense from last season. Getting better on the defensive end of the floor could also do nothing but help LaVine’s case to get his first career All-NBA nod.
Another deciding factor for LaVine in terms of league-wide awards for the 2020-21 season will be how much success the Bulls as a whole see in the win column. If LaVine leads the Bulls to their first postseason berth since the 2016-17 season, that will also go a long way to helping him get into the All-NBA conversation. LaVine actually hasn’t played in a single postseason game in his career so far.
LaVine is going to have to edge out star guards in the East like Brooklyn Nets point guard Kyrie Irving, Boston Celtics point guard Kemba Walker, Philadelphia 76ers point guard Ben Simmons, Celtics shooting guard/wing Jaylen Brown, Washington Wizards shooting guard Bradley Beal and point guard Russell Westbrook, etc. for those honors. All-NBA is not an easy accomplishment obviously, but it is one within reach if LaVine continues to elevate his game this season.
