Chicago Bulls: 3 players that should see their minutes decline in 2020-21
There’s a trio of Chicago Bulls players on the current roster that are probably facing a dwindling role during the 2020-21 season.
Now that the Chicago Bulls are two games into their preseason schedule, they are looking to keep building momentum less than 10 days ahead of the tip off of their regular season schedule. The Bulls notched their first preseason win on Dec. 13 to round out the weekend on a high note.
Newly hired head coach Billy Donovan and the Bulls now hold a record of 1-1 following their Dec. 13 preseason win at home over the Houston Rockets. The Bulls split two home games against the Rockets at the United Center last weekend to start out this four game schedule. Now the Bulls will hit the road to face the Oklahoma City Thunder to round out their preseason slate for two games, on Dec. 17 and 19.
After the Bulls round out their preseason schedule this week, they’ll return home to tip off the regular season slate on Dec. 23 at the United Center against the Atlanta Hawks. That will be the first Bulls regular season game at home since early-to-mid March.
More than nine months between regular season games means there will be a lot of rust to shake off for these Bulls players. The good news is that we’re seeing a bit of sneak peek into how Donovan will sort out the 15-man rotation this season, through two preseason games thus far.
There are some notable changes, including a lot of playing time (as anticipated) for the likes of rookie forward Patrick Williams and second-year point guard Coby White. With their uptick in playing time, and a new look front office regime and coaching staff in place this season, there’s likely to be some rotational changes on the way for these players.
Here’s a look at three Bulls players that are likely to see their minutes decline this season compared to last.
