Former Chicago Bulls: 3 biggest steals in free agency this offseason
2) Former Chicago Bulls free agent steals
A late free agent signing that arrived for the Utah Jazz came in the form of the former Bulls breakthrough two-way combo guard Harrison. The former 6-foot-4 and 190 pound Tulsa Golden Hurricane guard will now have played for three different NBA teams since first making his pro debut during the 2017-18 season, with the Phoenix Suns.
Harrison steadily improved his play and overall efficiency up until his Bulls run would come to an end last season. He’s known as an improving combo guard that isn’t going to be a primary ball handler, but can handle most defensive matchups with ease that he’s assigned to. Harrison and Dunn were the Bulls two best perimeter defenders last season.
During the shortened 2019-20 regular season, Harrison played in 43 games with the Bulls (10 of which he started in). And he averaged 4.9 points per game, 2.0 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 0.8 steals, 0.4 blocks, and 0.4 turnovers. Harrison shot 46.7 percent from the field, 38.1 percent from beyond the arc, and 78.0 percent from the free-throw line.
All of that amounted to a team-high 2.8 box plus/minus rating, 1.5 total win shares, 17.8 player efficiency rating, 116 offensive rating/105 defensive rating, 0.6 value over replacement player rating, .153 win shares per 48 minutes, and a 55.9 true shooting percentage. He was really efficient for the Bulls last season, and he should bring a lot of value to the table on both ends of the floor as a second or third unit guard for the Jazz during the 2020-21 campaign.
