3) Former Chicago Bulls free agent steals

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Power Forward. 3. Age: 25. Bobby Portis. player. 89

An often forgotten former Bulls player in this cycle of free agency that will once again find himself playing in the Central Division, former Arkansas Razorbacks big man Bobby Portis, will be a name to watch this season. Portis is about to get to team up with the reigning back-to-back MVP winner and superstar forward Giannis Antetokounmpo in the Cream City.

The Milwaukee Bucks got a pretty big steal by landing Portis in this cycle of free agency, signing him for a two-year contract worth a little over $6.5 million. Portis does have a player option ahead of the start of the 2021-22 season, but his contract is still very team friendly.

Portis spent last season playing with the odd frontcourt that the New York Knicks pieced together in free agency last offseason. During the shortened 2019-20 regular season, Portis played in 66 games for the Knicks (just five of which he started in). And he averaged 10.1 points per game, 5.1 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 0.5 steals, and 0.3 blocks. Portis shot 45.0 percent from the field, 35.8 percent from beyond the arc, and 76.3 percent from the free-throw line.

The fact that the Bucks got a nice depth boost to their frontcourt rotation on the bench in Portis for such a value contract should do nothing but help their case to improve come playoff time in the Eastern Conference this season. The main task at hand now for Giannis, star shooting guard/small forward Khris Middleton, and the Bucks will be finding more postseason success than they did over the course of the last two years.
