1) Chicago Bulls Training Camp trades
If the Bulls are still seeking out a true floor general, then targeting the already recently traded former Milwaukee Bucks veteran point guard Eric Bledsoe might not be the worst idea. There’s something that the Bulls and New Orleans Pelicans can both use from each other if they get into trade discussions. Bledsoe might be the most realistic trade chip that the Bulls could get from the Pelicans.
Bledsoe originally landed with the Pelicans by way of an absolutely insane four-team trade that saw multiple moving parts. The three other teams that were included in this trade deal were the Oklahoma City Thunder, Bucks, and the Nuggets. The Pelicans got quite a few significant pieces in that trade deal, including a number of draft picks and the former Thunder veteran center Steven Adams.
The Pelicans did need to bolster the frontcourt depth around the sensational second-year forward Zion Williamson, and they did that by acquiring Adams. But they could still use more depth that can play at the three or the four behind Zion. That’s why it could be so useful for them to get a player like veteran forward Thaddeus Young into the mix.
Young has around $13 million left over the course of the next two years on the life of his current contract. He would be able to bounce back nicely, in all likelihood, if he got a change of scenery by hypothetically landing with the Pelicans. And the Pelicans also get to add former New York Knicks center Luke Kornet and a future lottery protected first round draft pick.
On the other hand, Karnisovas gets to free up future roster and cap space and make his team more competitive as soon as this coming season.
