There are some solid underrated free agent targets remaining that could fill various needs for the Chicago Bulls. Here are three.
There’s not a whole lot left on the board that the Chicago Bulls could go after in this cycle of free agency. Most of what’s left in the free agent market as of the evening of Nov. 24 are filler/support pieces to help build up a bench. The Bulls don’t have much left on the board to really help out the starting five or provide a true sixth man.
Given the confidence that newly hired executive vice president of basketball operations Arturas Karnisovas and general manager Marc Eversley displayed in the roster at hand (largely similar to last season), the Bulls might not need another big name in the rotation. But the bench could always use upgrades beyond what they have now.
A lot of the pieces from the roster from last season remain the same, as it appears now, heading into next season. What the Bulls did add mostly came on the night of the 2020 NBA Draft (which took place back on Nov. 18). They picked the former Florida State Seminoles freshman forward Patrick Williams fourth in the draft lottery.
And the Bulls added KK Mega Bemax 21-year-old 6-foot-11 and 215 pound big man Marko Simonovic with the 44th overall pick in the second round of the draft. While the selection of Simonovic appears to be a good one for Karnisovas and the Bulls, maybe the best value came from signing undrafted free agent and former Kansas Jayhawks point guard Devon Dotson.
The Bulls also signed former Brooklyn Nets 34-year-old veteran shooting guard Garrett Temple as essentially their lone addition to the roster via free agency. That will help to fill a hybrid role left open by point guard Kris Dunn and combo guard Shaquille Harrison.
Yet, if Karnisovas and the Bulls want to add one more piece to the roster ahead of Training Camp, which potential underrated solid finds currently remain on the free agent market?
