1) Chicago Bulls remaining free agent targets

Scouting Report. DeMarcus Cousins. player. 20. Pick Analysis. Center. Age: 30. 1

The last time that the former Sacramento Kings superstar center DeMarcus Cousins took to the floor in meaningful game action was last year during the playoff run with the Golden State Warriors. More specifically he was tasked with helping stop the Raptors from continuing their NBA Championship run, especially once the Warriors lost Kevin Durant due to an achilles tear.

Although, the last team that Cousins was actually contracted with was the defending NBA Champion Los Angeles Lakers. Due to more injury problems, “Boogie” Cousins wasn’t able to play with the Lakers at all last season. Cousins wound up getting waived by the Lakers back in February, and he is still one of the more high-profile players remaining on the free agent market.

And the last time that Cousins played in more than half of a regular season slate was back during the 2017-18 campaign with the New Orleans Pelicans, alongside superstar big man Anthony Davis. Cousins played in 48 games during the 2017-18 regular season with the Pelicans (all of which he started in) and he was an All-Star selection for the fourth time in his career.

During that 2017-18 campaign with the Pelicans, Cousins averaged 25.2 points per game, 12.9 rebounds, 5.4 assists, 1.6 steals, and 1.6 blocks. And he shot 47.0 percent from the field, 35.4 percent from beyond the arc, and 74.6 percent from the free-throw line. Despite the achilles tear, Cousins could still be a really good center in the NBA.

If the Bulls are willing to take on the injury risk and the occasional locker room turmoil from Cousins (from his time with the Kings), then it’s worth seeing what it would take to get him to Chicago.
