2) Chicago Bulls remaining free agent targets

A lot of people forget how young the former Toronto Raptors and Nets small forward/power forward Rondae Hollis-Jefferson still is. The 6-foot-6 and 220 pound forward is a five year NBA vet, out of the Arizona Wildcats hoops program, but he’s still just 25 years old, and will be at the outset of the 2020-21 regular season.

Hollis-Jefferson is a solid two-way forward that would bring a lot of value and depth to the table for the Bulls rotation, coming off the bench. And the last contract he had with the Raptors was signed for one year, for just $2.5 million. If the Bulls could get him for a similar price tag it would be an absolute steal. That money would be so much better used with the likes of Hollis-Jefferson than someone with a bloated contract like big man Cristiano Felicio.

Moreover, Hollis-Jefferson played in 60 games during the shortened 2019-20 regular season with the Raptors (six of which he started in). He averaged 7.0 points per game, 4.7 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 0.8 steals, and 0.4 blocks. And Hollis-Jefferson shot 47.1 percent from the field, a rather dismal 13.0 percent from beyond the arc, and 73.4 percent from the free-throw line.

Signing Hollis-Jefferson would provide for bolstered wing depth and defense for the Bulls. He’s not a space the floor type of forward, but he is one of the most underrated one-on-one defenders remaining in this cycle of free agency. He is also a very underrated inside scorer and rebounder, which could help the utility of the wing/forward rotation.
