Chicago Bulls in discussions with Warriors for Wendell Carter Jr. trade
With the 2020 NBA Draft night looming in the matter of less than six hours, what trades could be on the table for the Chicago Bulls?
More and more interesting trade ideas and rumors keep pouring in pertaining directly to the Chicago Bulls just ahead of the night of the 2020 NBA Draft. These trade rumors talk about players ranging from center Wendell Carter Jr. all the way to shooting guard Zach LaVine.
Whatever happens, it’s hard to imagine that newly hired Bulls executive vice president of basketball operations Arturas Karnisovas and general manager Marc Eversley don’t make some big move to alter the process of this rebuild heading into its fourth year. The Bulls have been involved in a number of rumors and discussions for trades and shakeups that could potentially transpire on draft night.
A report on the Twitter timeline of Kevin O’Conner of The Ringer on the morning of Nov. 18 added another dimension to the Bulls trade possibilities on draft night. O’Conner mentioned in his latest mock draft ahead of the night of Nov. 18 that the Bulls “have discussed a trade” that would give them the second pick from the Golden State Warriors in exchange for WCJ and the fourth pick in the 2020 draft lottery.
This would likely give the Bulls the opportunity to select the likes of point guard LaMelo Ball, center James Wiseman, and/or shooting guard Anthony Edwards. That would all depend on what the Minnesota Timberwolves do with the top overall pick in this draft.
Without trading up in this draft, O’Conner had the Bulls taking the former Maccabi Tel Aviv lengthy shooting guard/wing Deni Avdija with the fourth overall pick in the draft lottery. Picking Avdija is something that a lot of people feel like the Bulls will do if they stick in the four slot.
The Warriors are projected to pick Wiseman in this mock draft. Since the Warriors have some use for Wiseman to piece in the starting five alongside the likes of forward Draymond Green, point guard Stephen Curry, and shooting guard Klay Thompson, that pick makes a lot of sense.
Getting WCJ would replace the need for the Warriors to get Wiseman in this draft lottery. While it’s hard to believe this will play out on draft night, we can’t really rule anything out with the likes of Karnisovas and Eversley heading it up for the Bulls.
