Draft night 2020 is almost here for the Chicago Bulls. And the rumors keep pouring in as to who they could pursue on the night of Nov. 18.
The rumors just keep pouring in as it pertains to the Chicago Bulls, just ahead of the start of the 2020 NBA Draft, set to take place on the night of Nov. 18. The long awaited 2020 draft lottery will see the Bulls pick fourth overall, after catching a nice stroke of luck and getting up three spots in the odds order.
Last year, the Bulls did well to snag the former North Carolina Tar Heels point guard Coby White seventh overall in the first round and former Arkansas Razorbacks center Daniel Gafford 38th overall in the second round. Gafford was one of the hidden gems of the second round of the draft last year, and White ended his rookie campaign on a high-note.
There’s a plethora of ways that the Bulls and newly hired executive vice president of basketball operations Arturas Karnisovas and general manager Marc Eversley could go in this draft. They hold that aforementioned fourth overall pick in the draft lottery, and the original Memphis Grizzlies 44th overall pick in the second round.
Some of the positional/rotational needs that the Bulls have to fill aren’t necessarily ones they can get through prospects in this draft class. But there are potential needs they can address with a draft night trade. The Bulls apparently are interested in forming a trade deal to land a veteran guard at some point this offseason. And what better time than draft night?
According to a report from Kevin O’Conner of The Ringer, the Bulls did at least inquire with the Boston Celtics regarding what it would take to land star point guard Kemba Walker. That would certainly be an interesting twist to draft night.
Here’s a look into three potential trades that the Bulls could piece together to get Kemba from the Celtics.
