1) Chicago Bulls draft targets to replace Dunn
The Bulls could have a really solid second round of this draft, given how deep the class is even after the lottery. Last year, the Bulls did really well to maximize the value of their second round draft pick, when they selected the former Arkansas Razorbacks rim-running center Daniel Gafford 38th overall. Gafford was one of the gem finds of the second round of the 2019 NBA Draft.
This time around, the Bulls have an opportunity to add some real defensive depth with their 44th overall pick in the second round. Jones has less of an opportunity to be left on the board at 44 than Hagans. But the likes of Hagans and the former San Diego State Aztecs and Washington State Cougars transfer point guard Malachi Flynn.
The reigning AP All-American had a number of accolades that he registered last season. He also earned First-Team All-Mountain West honors, Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year, and Mountain West Player of the Year honors. It felt like Flynn took home about every accolade possible last season in the Mountain West, and deservedly so.
Last season at San Diego State, Flynn continued his high rate of improvement. He played at 32 games (all of which he started in). And he averaged 17.6 points per game, 4.5 rebounds, 5.1 assists, 1.8 steals, and 0.1 blocks. Flynn shot 44.1 percent from the field, 37.3 percent from beyond the arc, and 85.7 percent from the free-throw line.
Flynn is a better shooter than Dunn, but not quite as good of a defender. He could still be a viable replacement coming off the bench at the point guard position.
