3) Chicago Bulls draft targets that fit with LaVine

If Karnisovas, Eversley, and the Bulls want to look in the direction of drafting a point guard that can play as a true floor general over White, then a good target could be the former Iowa State Cyclones sophomore Tyrese Haliburton. This lengthy 6-foot-5 and 180 pound point guard was a sensational star for the Clones in each of the last two seasons.

Why Haliburton would be such a good fit alongside the likes of LaVine and Co. is how good he can be on both ends of the floor. Any poor defensive possessions for LaVine are partially offset by the solid defensive presence that Haliburton brings to the table. Haliburton registered a stout 101 defensive rating, 3.7 defensive box plus/minus rating, 2.5 steals per game, and a steal percentage around four, during his sophomore campaign in Ames.

Haliburton is an agile perimeter defender that is really good on ball and aware/intelligent off-ball.

In transition and on the offensive end of the floor, Haliburton is a good catch-and-shoot player that can take a lot of the facilitating duties off of LaVine. In the last two seasons, LaVine took a lot of the transition and playmaking abilities on his own shoulders. If the Bulls can bring in the likes of Haliburton to place alongside LaVine and White, there would be multiple other sources of shot creation and overall playmaking.

Two of the most underrated parts of Haliburton’s game are his shooting efficiency and ability to effectively manage the offense. Last season with Iowa State, Haliburton roughly doubled his turnover percentage with his assist percentage. And he shot better than 42.5 percent from beyond the arc, and had a true shooting percentage of 64.5 in his career at Iowa State.
