3) Chicago Bulls draft sleepers with high ceilings
A lot of the improvement that the former highly coveted five-star recruit and the Memphis Tigers freshman forward Precious Achiuwa showed down the stretch during the shortened 2019-20 college hoops season fell under the radar. Memphis head coach and former Orlando Magic star point guard Penny Hardaway saw tremendous progression out of Achiuwa in multiple phases of his game in the back half of the 2019-20 regular season.
Achiuwa showed a lot of what he can do on-ball on the defensive end of the floor and how he can command the floor with his electric athleticism and physical tools on offense as his freshman campaign moved along. His lengthy 6-foot-9 and 225 pound frame gives Achiuwa a lot of leverage to make things happen on both ends of the floor.
During the 2019-20 college hoops season, Achiuwa played in 31 games with Memphis (all of which he started in). And he averaged 15.8 points per game, 10.8 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 1.1 steals, and 1.9 blocks. Achiuwa shot 49.3 percent from the field, 32.5 percent from beyond the arc, and 59.9 percent from the free-throw line. That helped Achiuwa take home the 2019-20 AAC Player of the Year honors.
If Achiuwa can work on his shot selection and overall efficiency shooting from downtown, he could turn into one of the absolute gem finds of this draft class. Although Achiuwa is likely to fall into the mid-to-late teens in the first round of the 2020 draft, he has the potential of one of the five or 10 most talented prospects in this class.
